Playdate is the gaming and game-streaming section of QrystalBox, where we organize iGaming contests that are streamed live and later compiled into stream-vids, available on demand post-livestream.
Playdate will be the first major branch of the QBox app to go live. We'll launch on the 1st of September with an inaugral contest that will feature prolific gamers squaring off against one another as they power Playdate-created characters through several challenges. The best part of this news is: anyone can participate, whether you're a gamer or not.
Playdate gives you an opportunity to earn in the gaming industry even if you're not a gamer:
At the end of every contest, sponsors of the winning contestant get a piece of the prize.
Playdate contests have two participant classes: gamer and sponsor.
Gamers are the people who control characters in the game. A gamer might have support personnel working with him/her (for example, navigators in a car racing game).
Sponsors are those who provide the funds that are used to secure a player's place in the challenge and pay for other challenge-related expenses.
Note: Sponsors are different from fans and supporters. Anyone watching the challenge can show their support by sending a gift to a player, team, or the Playdate channel. But to enter a challenge as a player or sponsor, you must first sign up. Once signup is complete, you get your own unique QBox cube. Then you can jump in.

What's a cube?
A QBox cube (cube for short) is a graphical representation of a QrystalBox user's identity. Each cube is unique, as it holds the owner's app-related metadata. Thus, a user can chat, join a group, vote, or enter a Playdate contest by simply placing his/her cube in the appropriate box (for instance, the Sponsors box on the Playdate Challenge page).
Your cube is not just your QBox ID but also your "money box". You can add funds to your cube, and make payments and withdrawals from it.
What's a qrystal?
Qrystalcoin ("Qrystal", for short) is QrystalBox's bespoke digital token. It is the primary medium of exchange used on QrystalBox.
To fund your Qrystalbox account, you'll have to purchase qrystals, which will then be stored in your cube. You'll use your qrystals to sponsor gamers and pay for other things on QrystalBox.
You can withdraw qrystals from your cube at any time. When a withdrawal is made, the specified amount is deducted from your cube balance, converted to USDT and sent to your specified crypto wallet address.
1 qrystal = 1 USD.
When you sponsor a gamer in a Playdate challenge, you earn the right to share in that player's winnings at the end of the challenge. With in-game gifts and real-world prizes on the line, a challenge winner's earnings can become quite substantial.
A player's sponsors are also entitled to a small percentage of remuneration the player gets from any endorsement deals that might result directly from his/her participation in that challenge.
What's more, at the end of a challenge, all competing players and their respective sponsors get a share of streaming revenue that's generated from live and on-demand views of the challenge. Whether they win or lose, every participant in a challenge gets to earn in some way.
Challenges will be pre-announced on the site and for each challenge, a number of shortlisted players will be presented. A would-be sponsor can review each player's performance statistics and watch sample videos of his/her gameplay before deciding which player to back.
By making a sponsorship commitment (usually a minimum of 10 USDT) you become one of that player's sponsors for that specific challenge. The number of available sponsorship slots is always limited so you'll have to act fast!
On the challenge sponsorship page, select the player you wish to back, state how much you want to put up, and then place your cube in that player's Sponsors box with a simple click-and-drag operation.
In most cases, all of a player's sponsors are required to pay a uniform amount (10 USDT or more). In other cases, you may contribute more than the stated minimum. In any case, your share of any eventual winnings will match the proportion of the total sponsorship burden that you bear.
One might mistakenly assume that gaming is an activity for little kids and teenagers, but that's not the case. Just as movies aren't made for children only, gaming and game-streaming are steadily gaining popularity with grown-ups.
Game streams on Twitch, Tik Tok and other social media platforms routinely rack up thousands of views, and the majoity of professional gamers are adults who make a decent living from their craft. A study conducted by Gitnux found that the average age of gamers worldwide is approximately 34 years old.
Newzoo reports that global game-streaming revenues increased by around 33% between 2020 and 2025, and growth is projected to continue at impressive rates in the forseeable future, as shown in the graphic below by the Business.
This means that there is an opportunity for Playdate contestants and sponsors to earn more and more with time, as game-streaming becomes more widely accepted as a branch of mainstream entertainment.
